1. Our promise to you
We built Viltoria so authors can understand what they are paying for before they pay. These promises are part of our agreement with you:
- One written quote. Before any work starts, you receive a written quote that lists every item, its price, and what is and isn’t included.
- No hidden charges. You will never be charged for anything that is not in a quote you approved.
- Nothing without your approval. We do not start any new paid work, or change the price, without your written approval.
- Honest advice. We tell you what your book needs and what it doesn’t, even if that means you buy less from us. You are always free to use another provider.
- Your book stays yours. Your copyright, files and publishing accounts stay in your name (see section 7).
2. Signup and guidance fee
To get started, we may charge a one-time signup fee of less than $100. The exact amount is shown to you before you pay. Sometimes we offer a lower guidance fee, such as $35 or $50.
This fee covers our guidance: we learn about your book and your goals, answer your questions, review any quotes you have received, and explain what your book needs and what it doesn’t.
The full signup fee is credited toward any Viltoria service you choose later. You do not pay it twice.
100-day money-back guarantee: if you are not satisfied with our guidance, email us within 100 days of signing up and we will refund your signup fee in full, with no questions asked. The only exception is if the fee has already been used as credit toward a service, because in that case it has already come back to you as a discount.
3. Quotes and payments
- Your written quote lists each service, its price, the number of revisions included, and the expected timeline.
- We do not ask for the full price upfront. Payment is taken in stages, as set out in your quote.
- Official third-party fees, such as ISBNs, copyright registration or printing, are passed on at cost and listed separately. You can also buy these yourself.
- All payments are processed by MUFAH LLC. Charges will appear as “MUFAH LLC” on your card or bank statement.
- A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.
4. Changes to your project
If you want to add or change something after you approve a quote, we will send you an updated written quote first. Nothing changes, and nothing extra is charged, until you approve it in writing.
5. Revisions
Your quote states how many revision rounds are included for each service. If you need more, we will tell you the price before doing the extra work, and only proceed with your approval.
6. Cancellation and refunds
- Before work starts: you can cancel at any time and receive a 100% refund of any amount paid for that service.
- During the project: you can stop at any time. We will agree with you, in writing, the value of the work already completed, based on the prices in your quote. You pay only for that work, and we refund the rest.
- If we do not deliver: if we fail to deliver a part of the work as described in your quote, you receive a full refund for that part.
- We will never try to keep you as a client against your wishes. If you choose to leave, we will hand over all completed files that you have paid for.
- To request a cancellation or refund, email us at the address below. We will reply within 2 business days and send approved refunds to your original payment method within 10 business days.
7. Ownership and rights
- You keep the copyright to your book at all times.
- When you have paid for a piece of work, such as an edited manuscript, cover design, illustrations or formatted files, all rights in that work belong to you.
- Publishing accounts we help you set up, such as Amazon KDP or IngramSpark, are created in your name and remain under your control. We never ask you to share your passwords.
- We will only show your book or our work for you in our portfolio with your permission.
8. Original work
All writing and design we create for you is original. Images, fonts and other materials we use are properly licensed or created for your project. If you supply material, such as text, photos or artwork, you confirm that you have the right to use it.
9. No guarantees of sales or results
We will never promise book sales, bestseller status, reviews, rankings or income, because nobody can honestly guarantee them. We promise clear advice, quality work and the timelines stated in your quote.
10. Third-party platforms
Platforms such as Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, Barnes & Noble and social media sites have their own rules, fees and review processes. We are not responsible for their decisions, but we will help you understand them.
11. Confidentiality and your information
We keep your manuscript and personal information confidential and use them only to provide our services. We do not sell your information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
12. Limitation of liability
If something goes wrong, our total liability to you for a service is limited to the amount you paid us for that service. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be limited.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States. If you live outside the United States, for example in the United Kingdom, you also keep any consumer rights that the law of your country gives you.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Changes do not affect a quote you have already approved.
